Male Incontinence – Men’s Liberty™Recommended wear time is 24 hours. One Men's Liberty™ is designed to be worn for up to 24 hours. You can wear Men's Liberty™ all day and all night. Many Men's Liberty™ users suggest changing Men's Liberty™ first thing in the morning, or after they take a shower.
Make sure Men's Liberty™ is worn under loose-fitting boxers or shorts. Do not use restrictive or absorbent underwear with Men's Liberty™.
Men's Liberty™ can be removed using FreeDerm adhesive remover. FreeDerm is extremely skin friendly and leaves no residue. Once applied to the skin, FreeDerm flash dries and doesn’t require washing. You can immediately apply your next Men's Liberty™ unit. While FreeDerm is recommended to remove Men's Liberty™, if you do not have FreeDerm, you can remove Men's Liberty™ by soaking in warm water. Be sure to never pull or tear Men's Liberty™ off the skin. If Men's Liberty™ is still sealed to the skin in some spots, soak for a little while longer. It can take up to 15 minutes to release the seal with water, so patience is important here!
How frequently you will need to empty the bag will vary by individual. We recommend that the bag be emptied when it is about 2/3 full. You do not want to overfill the bag or it will back up and cause it to leak. For men who need additional urine storage, the small pouch can be connected to any standard leg or bedside urine bag.
If you have an allergy or sensitivity to tape, we would recommend doing a skin test before using Men's Liberty™. Simply cut a small piece of hydrocolloid (the adhesive) off a faceplate seal and place it on the inside of your forearm just below the elbow. If after about 3-4 hours there is no sign of irritation, you should be fine to use the product.
Uncircumcised men may use Men's Liberty™ as long as they can retract the foreskin to expose the head of the penis. We suggest using a KindKlamp or penile clamp to hold the foreskin back during the application. If you cannot retract the foreskin, we do not recommend attaching Men's Liberty™ overtop the foreskin without consulting your physician.
Yes! Men's Liberty™ is designed to be worn comfortably under normal clothing, including long shorts.
KindKlamp™ is an innovative penile clamp designed to retract the foreskin and temporarily stop the flow of urine. Intended to be used in conjunction with the Men’s Liberty™ and Men’s Liberty™ Acute range, the KindKlamp™ allows the external male catheter to be applied to clean, dry skin.
KindKlamp™ is designed to fit most male anatomy. We do however recommend consulting with a healthcare professional to accurately assess the suitability of KindKlamp™ for you.
KindKlamp™ was designed to assist in the retraction of the foreskin and to stop the flow or drip of urine, ensuring the Men’s Liberty™ external male catheter can be applied to clean, dry skin.
A few key benefits of KindKlamp™:
- The innovative design allows the device to be closed and released with one hand
- Has a curved upper arm for improved comfort
- Has a long lasting hinge for multiple cycles
CathGrip® is made of proprietary hydrocolloid, a skin-friendly material that is designed to move like a second skin with the body. The skin-friendly adhesive helps prevent skin-tearing and irritation, unlike other acrylic-based securement devices. Designed with soft no-slip straps, the CathGrip® range of securement devices can secure medical tubes from 3-42Fr.
Yes. CathGrip® is made without natural rubber latex.
Hydrocolloid is a type of material that contains gel-forming agents that forms a gel when it comes in contact with moisture. This material is self-adherent, meaning it sticks to skin but releases once it comes in contact with moisture, such as water or adhesive remover.
When applied as instructed and in conjunction with the BioPlus Barrier Film Wipe, you can expect your CathGrip® to stay in place for 7 days.
Yes. CathGrip® is a versatile product, helping to secure many different medical tubes. These include:
- NG/OG Tubes
- Jackson Pratt Drains
- Nephrostomy Drains
- Peg Tubes
- J Tubes
- Secondary Securement Vascular Access
- Ventricular Assist Device
- Catheters - Urinary Catheters, Suprapubic Catheters and Epidural Catheters
CathGrip® Ovals can be used to position various tubes and lines in difficult areas. Supplied in pairs, the CathGrip® Ovals are designed to help prevent pressure injuries and skin tearing, especially with fragile and tender skin. *More commonly used in a healthcare setting*
- Improves hydrocolloid adhesion up to 50%
- Forms a transparent, protective barrier film
- No sting
- Fast drying
No. BioPlus™ has a no-sting application. Please consult a healthcare professional should you experience any adverse effects.
BioPlus™ Barrier Wipes are recommended for use after cleaning and drying, during the pre-application prep stage. Simply wipe the area where
you plan to apply the hydrocolloid based product and allow 15-20 seconds for the transparent protective formula to dry, until the skin is no longer tacky.
FreeDerm® Adhesive Remover is specially formulated to instantly remove hydrocolloids, tapes and adhesive bandages without irritation, whilst evaporating rapidly with no leftover residue. Designed to reduce skin trauma, infection risk, inflammatory damage and oedema, FreeDerm® allows for
immediate reapplication of an adhesive device without washing. Free of oils and lotions, FreeDerm® is non-stinging and contains no harsh chemicals.
Yes. FreeDerm® allows for immediate reapplication of an adhesive device without washing.
To use this product to its full advantage, we suggest dripping the 6ml of liquid from the pouch, to the edge of the adhered product, and gently start to roll/lift the edges of the adhesive device. You can then take out the large wipe to assist in the removal of the device and any remaining residue. One wipe is plenty per individual device removal.
